Chadwell family golf centre is a busy golfing facility with an England Golf registered 9 hole par 3 course, a 9-hole pitch & put course for juniors & beginners alongside a footgolf course. We welcome golfers of all abilities, we have a 17 bay Trackman golf range, 3 pros giving lessons and club fittings as well as a retail shop selling Titleist, Ping & TaylorMade clubs. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, bring their expertise and a positive can-do attitude to our engaged team as we continue to grow this business.

Responsibilities
- Perform advanced landscaping tasks including mowing, aeration, fertilization, and pest management with adherence to safety guidelines.
- Oversee and participate in the day-to-day maintenance of the golf course, including greens, tees, fairways, and bunkers.
- Assist in the formulation and execution of annual course maintenance plans, seasonal changes, and turf management practices.
- Maintain and repair maintenance equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation relating to the use of machinery, tools and hazardous substances and maintain accurate records of chemicals
- Annual stock take on all machinery and products
- Work with our head of golf to conduct inspections of the course to diagnose problems and implement corrective measures as necessary.
- Train, motivate and mentor junior staff and apprentices to enhance their skills and ensure effective course maintenance.
- Engage with our team to provide insights about course conditions and any upcoming maintenance activities.
- Conduct and maintain risk assessments
- Manage and coordinate the team’s holiday calendar to ensure adequate staffing levels at all times.
- Assist in preparing and managing the department Budget
- Assist in sourcing materials and equipment cost effectively.
- Provide regular reports on course performance, projects and resource needed
Requirements
- Proven experience as a head greenkeeper or in a similar role, with relevant qualifications in turf management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of turf management practices, health and safety regulations, and maintenance equipment.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to effectively manage tasks.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills for training and mentoring team members.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to transport equipment as necessary.
- Valid PA1 & PA6 Certificates
