Located a short stroll from the grounds of Hatfield House where history states that news of Queen Mary’s death on 17th of November 1558 reached Elizabeth, where she was said to be out in the park, sitting under an oak tree, when hearing that she was Queen.


Location and Style

The Red Lion is part of McMullen’s ever-expanding Chicken & Grill concept, next to the stately home Hatfield House. We offer our guests attentive table service, freshly rotisserie roasted chickens, grilled meats and classic pub food, all complimented by McMullen’s locally brewed ales, in well-designed surroundings. However, we know that we can’t achieve any of this without great people running our pubs!

The ideal candidate will be a creative, energetic problem solver who wants to make this pub stand out by putting their own stamp on the business, developing a strong team, engaging guests through events and social media but most of all focussing on the basics to ensure we deliver the best experience.
