Ready to kick-start your marketing career with a company that’s been brewing beer and good times for nearly 200 years? McMullen’s is looking for a creative, enthusiastic Marketing & Digital Marketing Assistant to join our buzzing team at the heart of our historic Hertford Brewery.


You’ll get stuck into everything from social media campaigns and content creation to supporting events, photoshoots, and pub promotions. If you love great pubs, great beer, and great marketing – this is your chance to make an impact!


What you’ll be doing:

  • Be the glue of the marketing team – supporting projects big and small, from tactical campaigns to exciting promotions.
  • Champion the Macs brand – know our guests, spot trends, and make sure everything we do looks and feels like us.
  • Get creative – help design pub-specific POS, assist on photoshoots, and bring ideas to life.
  • Dive into digital – plan and deliver multi-channel campaigns, create content, and analyse performance to keep us ahead of the game.
  • Keep things running smoothly – handle enquiries, manage data (GDPR-friendly, of course), and keep our marketing comms sharp and on point.
  • Work with great people – from agencies to pub teams, you’ll collaborate to make every campaign a success.

What we’re looking for:

  • Super organised, detail-driven, and able to juggle multiple projects without breaking a sweat.
  • A confident communicator – whether it’s writing, creating, or chatting.
  • Social media & tech savvy – Microsoft, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn… you know the drill.
  • A full driving licence


Bonus points if you:

  • Know your way around Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign – Premiere Pro is a plus).
  • Have experience with events, photography, or videography.
  • Love beer and know what’s trending in the world of pints.
  • Can influence and collaborate like a pro.

This role is based at our Hertford Brewery, with the occasional trip to our pubs (and maybe the odd pint while you’re there). Some evenings and weekends might pop up – it’s hospitality, after all – but that’s not the norm.
